Over the years Mark Holland-Hicken's painting style has naturally evolved towards the 'Photo-Realistic' school of art.

Artist Profile

During the past 20 years Mark has created artworks in many mediums, including gouache, acrylics, oils, pastels and air-brushing.

Experimenting with the idea of painting children Mark, saw the birth of his daughter as the perfect opportunity to start a new project. Mark proceeded to embark on painting a series of studies of his daughter throughout her childhood, her teenage years and into her adulthood: 'A 21st Century Baby for all to share: a Universal Baby'.

With a great passion for art, photography and painting, Mark's dream has developed into his "U-Bebe Project" a series of 64 painted studies. Mark Holland-Hicken's creative passions have also led him into painting other subjects, including still life, animals, human social behaviour etc.....

As Mark's style and technique has evolved, so has his choice of subject matter. He has formed a very close and strong friendship with Gabriele Rigon; possibly the world's greatest photographer of the female form. As a result of his relationship with Gabriele Rigon, Mark now almost exclusively paints the most beautiful women on earth.
